Converse has a unique legacy

Converse did not begin as Converse, but as Xenia. Not counting the French trader Brouillette, the first settlers to the area did not make their appearance until 1842.

Take Jim Law. As the Twentieth Century came to a close, the Marion Chronicle-Tribune selected Jim Law as the Grant County Football Coach of the Century in 2000.
